Handling and Storage of Hand Made Plaster Coving

All of our plaster coving is handmade using traditional methods and the highest-grade gypsum plaster. While crafted for quality, it remains a fragile product and requires careful handling to avoid cracks, chips, or breakages. Please read the following guidelines thoroughly to ensure your coving remains in perfect condition.

Before Booking Installation

We strongly advise not scheduling any installation or fitting work until you have received and fully inspected your order. While we aim to dispatch within 10 working days, lead times may vary depending on demand.

Please note that we cannot be held liable for any costs resulting from delayed deliveries or early bookings with installers or plasterers.

Plaster coving is delicate by nature. It’s essential to review this care information before handling.

Safe Handling Instructions

Once removed from our delivery vehicle, plaster coving must always be carried on its side in a horizontal position, as shown in the illustration below.

The most common cause of damage is improper handling—such as lifting the coving flat or face-up—which can cause it to bend and crack under its own weight.

Health & Safety

When handling plaster coving or any heavy item, please ensure you follow current HSE (Health and Safety Executive) guidelines for manual lifting to prevent injury or damage.

ALWAYS STORE THE PRODUCT ON A FLAT SURFACE ON IT'S EDGE AS BELOW.

Lifting Plaster CovingPlaster Coving should be lifted with both hands from the middle of the length in an even way attempting to keep the plaster coving parallel to the floor.
